The Heartwood Dagger on TBN Tonight!

Those of you looking for something to do early tomorrow morning at 1:00am central time (besides sleeping) are encouraged to turn on your local Trinity Broadcasting Network station and watch one of Filmweavers' previous films "The Heartwood Dagger".

If you are sleeping during that time (understandable) or are otherwise unable to catch the movie on TBN tonight you can always order your own copy here and watch it on your own schedule.

Christian Filmmakers 36-Hour Contest Sponsor

Here at Filmweavers we are always looking for ways to help other filmmakers out and further the cause of Christian filmmaking.  One such opportunity that presented itself was the chance to sponsor the ChristianFilmmakers.org Annual 36-Hour Contest.

This is the same contest you may remember Micah and I participating in last year.  Our little short "The Lost Sock" actually ended up winning!  If you haven't seen it already feel free to check it out below:

We'll be sitting the contest out this year as we continue preparations for pick-up shooting on "The Penny", but we're still looking forward to viewing all the other entries this year.  For those of you who aren't familiar with ChristianFilmmakers.org I'd recommend you check it out.  The site and forums can be a great place to connect with other filmmakers and stay up to date on the latest in Christian film.

New Adventure Film Project Announced!

Well it finally happened. It's official. Filmweavers has just finished the first complete draft of it's upcoming feature length film: Aeolus' Treasure. It's a working title of course, the actual title is a much guarded secret till we get closer to a release. Lord willing this film will be shot this summer, and we hope to go into pre-production as soon as the script drafts are finished.

If you are interested in being involved on this project in any capacity please contact us.

The goal of this script is to bring a dose of much needed morality to the Adventure genre. We don't just need heroes, we need heroes that show godliness, character, resolve, courage in the face of evil, and respect toward women. In a tangible world where everything doesn't go perfectly and the enemy will stop at nothing till you relent. All Christian films don't have to be family dramas! The adventure begins....

The Heartwood Dagger Soundtrack Released!

We hope everyone has a blessed and safe Thanksgiving! There is so much we take for granted every single day it almost makes you tremble to think about. In that light, it is wonderful to have a day set aside to take a moment and dwell on the INCREDIBLE blessings God has given us in this nation. We spent ours with close and extended family, and we hope it found your family safe and together as well!

In other news we are pleased to announce that David Gilchrist (music composer for The Heartwood Dagger) has just finished pulling together a complete soundtrack CD with music from the film. I believe he has even added some additional music and tweaked the tracks a bit. We may make it available on the Filmweaver's Website as well, but at the very least anyone can listen to some samples of the music via his soon to come website. We'll post another small update as soon as that is ready.

On other fronts, Filmweavers is still in development of a feature length script which, Lord willing, we would hope to shoot next summer.

Intern Heads Home

It is with great sorrow that I must post that our intern Joseph Wilson headed home this last week back to his normal life. I say normal because life at Filmweavers exactly isn't what I would call "normal". Tis a miracle indeed that he survived the environment here at Filmweavers, but he discovered, I trust, that we are indeed human. The horror stories about what happens to FW employees when they talk about top secret material is only partially true,  but when interns talk about...
